Terms of Service
These Terms of Service are a friendly agreement between you and ClipLookup. They explain what you can do with the site, what we ask in return, and the few common-sense rules that keep ClipLookup safe, free, and useful for everyone.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By visiting or using cliplookup.com (the "Site", "Service", or "ClipLookup"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the Service — that's the simplest fix for both of us.
These Terms form a binding agreement between you ("you" or "user") and the team that runs ClipLookup ("we", "us", or "our"). They apply every time you load a page, paste a link, or interact with any tool on the site.
2. About the service
ClipLookup is a free, browser-based utility that lets you look up information behind public short-video URLs and, where the source permits, save a public video file or audio track for personal, non-commercial use. We do not host, upload, or store user video content. We simply act as a bridge between your browser and publicly available media.
The Service is offered on a best-effort basis. We may add features, change how things work, or take parts of the Site offline for maintenance without prior notice. We try to keep disruption to a minimum, but ClipLookup is provided free of charge and we don't guarantee uninterrupted service.
3. Who can use ClipLookup
You may use ClipLookup if all of the following are true:
- You are at least 13 years old (16 in regions where that is the minimum age for digital consent).
- You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your country of residence.
- You are not barred from using the Service under the laws of your jurisdiction.
- You agree to use ClipLookup only for lawful, personal purposes.
If you are using ClipLookup on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
4. Your license to use ClipLookup
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use ClipLookup for your own non-commercial use, in line with these Terms. This license does not transfer any ownership rights and may be revoked at any time if you misuse the Service.
You may not sublicense, rent, sell, resell, or commercially exploit any part of ClipLookup or its content without our prior written permission.
5. Acceptable use
We trust our users, but a few clear rules keep the platform healthy for everyone. When using ClipLookup, you agree not to:
- Use the Service to download, distribute, or process content you do not have the right to access or save.
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right, including intellectual property and privacy rights.
- Upload, paste, or transmit material that is illegal, harmful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or sexually explicit content involving minors.
- Use automated systems — bots, scrapers, crawlers, headless browsers — to interact with the Site in a way that places an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, security measures, CAPTCHAs, or access controls.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except where this is expressly permitted by law.
- Resell, redistribute, or republish ClipLookup outputs in a way that competes with our service or misrepresents it as your own.
- Use the Service to harvest personal data about other users, creators, or third parties.
- Introduce viruses, malware, or any code designed to interfere with the Site's normal operation.
6. Links, URLs, and your content
The only "content" you typically submit to ClipLookup is a public video URL. By pasting a URL into the tool, you confirm that:
- The URL points to publicly available content that is lawful in your country.
- You either own the content, are licensed to access and save it, or have a valid legal basis (such as fair use or personal backup) under your local law.
- You will not use any saved file in a way that infringes copyright, trademark, publicity, or privacy rights.
You remain solely responsible for how you use any file produced by the Service. ClipLookup does not grant you any rights in third-party content — those rights belong to the original creator or rights holder.
7. Intellectual property
The ClipLookup name, logo, brand colors, interface design, written content, source code, and any other original material on the Site are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Site or our branding without our written permission. Standard browsing, sharing a link to a public page, or quoting short excerpts with a clear credit and link back is welcome.
8. Third-party services and ads
ClipLookup is free thanks to support from advertising partners such as Google AdSense, plus essential tools like Google Analytics and our hosting and CDN providers. Some pages may include links to third-party sites that we don't control or endorse.
We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third party. When you click an external link or interact with an ad, you do so under that third party's own terms and privacy policy. We encourage you to read them before sharing information or making any purchase.
For details on cookies and personalized advertising, please review our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.
9. Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property and we expect our users to do the same. ClipLookup does not host video content — we merely process publicly available URLs — but if you believe material associated with our Service infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
A valid DMCA notice should include:
- Your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email.
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
- The exact URL(s) or specific information that identifies the infringing material.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Send DMCA notices to support@cliplookup.com with the subject line "DMCA Notice", or use our DMCA page. Misuse of the DMCA process may result in legal liability for the submitter.
10. Disclaimers
ClipLookup is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:
- Merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
- That the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components.
- That any information, output, or file obtained through the Service will be accurate, complete, or reliable.
- That a particular video URL will be supported or remain supported indefinitely.
You use ClipLookup at your own discretion and at your own risk. You are solely responsible for any damage to your device, loss of data, or other harm resulting from your use of the Service.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ClipLookup, its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to:
- Your access to, use of, or inability to use the Service.
- Any content obtained through the Service.
- Any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data.
- Statements or conduct of any third party on the Service or via advertising.
Where liability cannot be excluded entirely by law, our total cumulative liability to you for all claims relating to the Service is limited to one hundred United States dollars (USD $100) or the amount you actually paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is greater. ClipLookup is generally provided free of charge, so this amount is typically USD $100.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ClipLookup and its team from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- Your use or misuse of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms or any applicable law.
- Your infringement of any third-party right, including intellectual property, publicity, or privacy rights.
- Any content you submit, process, or download through ClipLookup.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, without prior notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, abused the platform, or engaged in activity that puts us, our partners, or our users at risk.
You may stop using ClipLookup at any time. The sections of these Terms that, by their nature, should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, and miscellaneous — will continue to apply.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, our business, or the law. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, draw attention to the change on the Site.
Your continued use of ClipLookup after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. If you don't agree with the changes, please stop using the Service.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or the Service are governed by the laws applicable at the place of ClipLookup's operations, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence continue to apply where they grant you stronger rights.
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to first contact us at support@cliplookup.com so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Most concerns can be sorted out by simply talking to a human.
16. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and DMCA Policy, make up the complete agreement between you and ClipLookup regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any part of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the rest will remain in full force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign or transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and don't affect interpretation.

18. Terms FAQ
The questions we get asked most often about how ClipLookup works and what's allowed.
Is ClipLookup really free to use?
Yes. ClipLookup is free for personal, non-commercial use. We don't charge for lookups, there are no hidden fees, and you don't need to create an account. Ads from partners like Google AdSense help us keep the lights on.
Do I need to sign up or share my email?
No account is required. You can use the tool anonymously. You only share an email if you choose to contact our support team, file a DMCA notice, or exercise a privacy right.
Can I download any video I find online?
You are responsible for what you do with the Service. Only paste links to public content that you have the right to access and save — for example, your own videos, content licensed for download, or material allowed under fair use in your country. Downloading copyrighted content without permission may be illegal where you live.
Can I use ClipLookup for my business or app?
The free Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Commercial use, automated access, or integration into another product or service is not allowed without our prior written permission. If you have a commercial use case, contact us and we'll see what we can do.
What happens if I break these Terms?
We may rate-limit, restrict, or block your access to the Service without notice. In serious cases — for example, repeated copyright infringement, large-scale scraping, or illegal content — we may also cooperate with law enforcement or rights holders as required.
How do I report copyright infringement?
Send a DMCA notice to support@cliplookup.com with the subject line "DMCA Notice", including all the details listed in Section 9 above, or use our DMCA page.
Are these Terms different in my country?
The core Terms apply globally, but local consumer-protection laws may give you additional rights that override anything inconsistent in this document. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory local law.
