We take copyright seriously at ClipLookup. If something on our service uses your work without permission, this page walks you through exactly how to let us know, and what we'll do about it.
1. About this policy
ClipLookup is a lookup tool. You paste a public short video URL, and we help you find what's behind it. We don't host or store any third party video files on our own servers.
That said, we still follow the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws around the world. If you let us know, clearly and in good faith, that something we surface infringes your copyright, we'll look into it and act on it.
2. How to send a DMCA notice
Email support@cliplookup.com with the subject line "DMCA Notice". To make sure we can act on it, please include all of the following:
- Your signature. A typed name in the email is fine, or a scanned signature.
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you're protecting.
- The exact URL on our service where the infringing material appears. Links work better than screenshots.
- Your full name, mailing address, phone number, and email.
- A short statement that you believe, in good faith, the use isn't authorized by you, your agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that everything in your notice is accurate and that you're the rights holder (or allowed to act on their behalf).
3. Filing a counter notice
Think your content was taken down by mistake? You can push back with a counter notice. Please include:
- Your signature, typed or scanned.
- What was removed and the URL where it used to live.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you genuinely believe the removal was an error.
- Your full contact details.
- Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court where you live, or the Northern District of California if you're outside the U.S., and your agreement to accept service of process from whoever filed the original complaint.
4. Repeat infringers
If someone keeps infringing and the pattern is clear, we'll terminate their access. This is required by the DMCA, and it's also just common sense.
5. Please don't misuse the process
Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, anyone who knowingly lies in a takedown or counter notice can be on the hook for damages, including legal fees. In plain terms: only file if you really mean it. Please don't use DMCA to silence content you simply don't like.
6. What happens after you file
- We confirm it. You'll hear back from us within 5 business days that your notice arrived.
- We review it. Our team checks that the notice is complete and that the claim looks reasonable.
- We act. If the infringement holds up, the material is removed or access is cut off.
- We follow up. Where it makes sense, the affected user is notified and shown how to file a counter notice.
